Please confirm whether ping to the VMs from the host or a LAN PC is still possible or not when the internet is lost in the VMs. If you can ping the VMs from the host or another LAN PC, even while the internet is out, then the Virtualbox network is working and the problem resides elsewhere, either in the VM's OS's, the host OS or drivers, or the LAN configuration, etc, not in Virtualbox.
